Some public libraries are adopting Web 2 with great enthusiasm. Check out the Ann Arbor District Library - their home page is actually a blog! They have several other blogs - an events blog, a service blog and a research blog.
Kankakee Public Library uses podcasts of hosted events and discussions with local authors.
Some libraries are using chat facilities to connect customers with librarians. See Cambridgeshire Libraries.
Lots of public libraries, including NZ libraries, have created facebook pages and some Twitter.
These are all Web 2 services. Looking at what other public libraries are doing is a great way of getting ideas for your own work situation.
